WIN NMIPA 2002 INDUSTRY SUPPORT AWARD

Susan
Chapman, founder of Albuquerque Web Women and President of Azure Communications,
Inc., accepted the New Mexico Internet Professionals Association's
2002 Industry Support Award at NMIPA's annual meeting on Thursday,
June 13th. The award was given to AWW for providing an active
forum to exchange information for Web development, networking and
Internet issues.
Founded
by Ms. Chapman in February 1997, Albuquerque Web Women is a special
interest group for Albuquerque area women working in the Internet.
Membership has grown from 20 members to almost 200. AWW Members include
professional women working in the field, such as ISP owners, Web designers,
database and custom programmers, Internet marketing specialists and
educators, but also include students.
Ms. Chapman
was one of the first professional Web designers to offer services
in Albuquerque, starting her Web development and design firm Azure
Communications in 1996. She founded Albuquerque Web Women in early
1997 to provide networking and learning opportunities for women in
this emerging field.

CHAPMAN NAMED PRESIDENT OF DIGITAL FINE ART SOCIETY OF NEW MEXICO

Susan
Chapman has been named the first President of the Digital
Fine Art Society of New Mexico. Founded in 2002, the purpose
of DFAS-NM is to share ideas and knowledge, to educate, to mount group
exhibitions, and to promote the advancement of Digital Fine Art.
The majority
of DFAS-NM members are experienced fine artists who are creating work
with computer tools out of love for this evolving creative medium.
Ms. Chapman is a co-founder of the group. She is also President of
Azure Communications, Inc.,
a New Mexico web design firm. Her fine art work may be viewed online
in Azure Gallery.
